Investment Management

Investment decisions need to work together. We build and oversee portfolios across public and private markets, taking account of the assets you already own, the commitments you have made, and the capital you may need.

Start with the balance sheet

A business interest or concentrated stock position can shape a family’s risk well beyond its investment accounts. We consider those exposures alongside spending needs, taxes, and private-market commitments when setting investment priorities.

Every investment must earn its place.

We assess opportunities across public markets, venture capital, growth equity, private credit, and special situations. Our work considers the business or strategy, valuation, terms, and risks, alongside the role an investment would play in the broader portfolio.

A compelling investment can still be the wrong fit if it adds too much concentration or ties up capital the family may need.

Plan for liquidity

Private investments, capital calls, taxes, and family spending compete for the same pool of capital. We weigh long-term commitments against those needs so liquidity is part of the investment decision from the outset.

Oversee and adjust

We coordinate implementation, oversee investment managers, and review the portfolio regularly. As markets and family circumstances change, we revisit allocations, exposures, and liquidity needs.

Investment advisory services and Lavelle-sponsored private investments are separate engagements, with separate fees and potential conflicts of interest. All investments involve risk, including possible loss of principal. Private investments involve additional risks, including illiquidity and the potential loss of the entire investment.
