The Coordination Gap

Lavelle Capital · Adapted from a Lavelle LinkedIn post · October 18, 2026

As family wealth grows, the number of advisers often grows with it: investment managers, accountants, estate attorneys, trustees, and bankers. Each may be doing good work, while no one is responsible for how the decisions fit together.

An investment decision can change the family’s tax position. An estate decision can change its liquidity needs. A private investment can create future capital calls alongside tax consequences.

The challenge is fragmented advice. We believe families with complex wealth need someone responsible for the whole picture. That is how we think about the role of a Chief Investment Office.
